We’re really excited to announce we held our first Vulnerability Awareness Week (15-19 May).
The aim was to help raise awareness of the support Wessex Water provides for customers in vulnerable circumstances and the training available to help our staff do this.
Throughout the week we highlighted different vulnerabilities our customers may face. We promoted our various training that is available to all staff, had a spotlight on one of our Vulnerability experts, and had various shout-outs throughout the week to show what good looks like when going the extra mile for customers in vulnerable circumstances.
We had two fantastic speakers during the week:
- Gillian Adams from BANES Age UK gave us a really interesting talk on the key challenges that people may face later in life and how we can support our older customers
- Kidney Care UK ran a joint session with Bristol Water to raise awareness about Kidney Disease, talk about our new partnership, and how we can support our customers living with this condition.
This is something we’re planning on running each year. If you think you like to get involved with us or come along to speak to us to raise awareness, please contact us at community.partners@wessexwater.co.uk.
