At Wessex Water, volunteering is a core part of who we are. During the 2024/25 financial year, more than 850 colleagues from across the Group stepped away from their day jobs to support local charities and community organisations – making a real difference where it matters most.
Together, our teams contributed an incredible 4,572 hours of volunteer time, supporting 26 local causes across our region. From environmental clean-ups to community support projects, the impact has been wide-reaching and deeply appreciated.
One standout example came from our Customer Policy Team, who spent a day at Berrow Beach in Burnham-On-Sea taking part in a beach clean. It was a fun and rewarding experience, and the team felt proud to contribute not only to our volunteering initiative but also to the protection of our local environment.
Claire Smith, Customer Policy Manager, said: "Volunteering for the beach clean-up was a truly rewarding experience. It felt great to contribute to the environment and take time out of our busy work schedules to make a meaningful difference in our local community."
We’re proud of the passion and commitment our colleagues bring to volunteering, and we look forward to continuing this important work in the year ahead.
